National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion 2026

February 27, 2026 | BPS Activities

The National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion for January and February 2026 (SNLIK 2026) is a nationwide survey targeting 75,000 respondents in 38 provinces across 514 regencies/cities. The household sample was selected using a systematic sampling method with implicit stratification based on the education level of the household head. The sample of individuals aged 15-79 was selected using a random sampling method with implicit stratification based on the age of eligible household members. Data collection was conducted through direct interviews with respondents using a pre-designed Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) method.

The financial literacy index is measured through aspects of familiarity with and confidence in financial services institutions, grouped into several financial service sectors: banking, capital markets, the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS), insurance, financing institutions, pension funds, pawnshops, Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), Fintech Lending, other financial services institutions, and Payment System Service Providers (outside the supervision of the Financial Services Authority) within the previous 12 months of the survey. Furthermore, financial skills, attitudes, and behaviors also form the basis for measuring the financial literacy index.

Generally, the specific objectives of the 2026 SNLIK include: determining the level of financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia, evaluating the effectiveness of financial literacy and inclusion programs in Indonesia, and providing information for planning literacy and inclusion programs for the following year.

The 2026 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) covered 75,000 sample respondents spread across 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities throughout Indonesia. The target number of respondents for the 2026 SNLIK was one respondent per household.

The data collected in the 2026 SNLIK is general data to determine the level of financial knowledge, beliefs, skills, attitudes, and behaviors, as well as the use of financial products and services. The 2026 SNLIK data collection was conducted using the CAPI method using the FASIH application.
